Roger Federer's final match

     Not so long ago Roger Federer ended his competitive career as tennis player during the Laver Cup in September 2022 - "He’d played the final match of his career, a double loss alongside his rival turned pal, Rafael Nadal". He believes he's leaving tennis in a good place handing his spotlight to other generations of tennis players. Even about his rival - Rafael Nadal, Federer said that he was always “secretly happy” to see him play his way back to the top level even as Nadal surpassed Federer’s major count to reach 22, the current record. His retirement had been a secret since late summer. He took a knee scan after Wimbledon that proved to be fatal to his career, placing him in yet another tough decision: "another surgery and rehab, or moving on to his next chapter". He decided to move on from being a tennis player, and instead focus on different aspects of his life, like spending more time with his family and achieving his ream of travelling around the world in a camper.

Does music help plants grow faster?

     Not so long ago, I stumbled upon an interesting statement - "Music helps plants grow faster". As everyone would do, I went onto the internet to verify if this statement is actually true. I found out that it's not really music that helps plants grow faster, but a particular sound waves. For example, Heidi Appel and Rex Cocroft of the University of Missouri "wondered whether plants would respond to the sound of insect herbivores feeding, so they ran a couple of experiments". They recorded the sound of a caterpillar feeding on an Arabidopsis, and then they played it back during the growth of a set of these plants. Compered to a set of plants growing in silence, when they later placed caterpillars on these plants, the group that was exposed to the sound produced much higher quantities of mustard oil in order to repel these insects. Volcano eruption on Java island

     Today, in East Java there has been an unsuspected occurrence. Mount Semeru has erupted, causing tremendous fear in the locals. Fortunately, no one was injured, but nearly 2000 people have been evacuated. Authorities gave information, that it began erupting at about 02:46 local time (19:46 GMT). Because of the "hot avalanches" of lava poured from Semeru, people have been commanded to keep the minimal distance of 8 kilometers from the volcano. According to a spokesman for Indonesia's Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), "The increased threat level from three to four also means the danger threatens people's homes". Besides the damage done to houses, it also inflicted a bridge, that is being rebuilt after a previous eruption of Semeru, which caused a series of natural disasters that resulted in many deaths.
